Exciting News From Monique Cavazos' First Grade Class:
Skyping with Michigan was a great success! The Bryker Woods children spoke to the children in Michigan. We had Q&A’s session, we learned about their school, state, fun activities they do , their classroom , and future projects that we will share. We will probably share stories with our new Michigan friends via SKYPE in about 3 weeks.
In future projects, thanks to Mr. Wilson, we hope to skype with a second grade class in Ireland. It’s amazing that we have the possibility to visit others without leaving our
classroom, as one of our students indicated in her discoveries with our skyping session on Thursday.
Some of the student’s comments that were shared after our skyping reflection were: it’s great to speak to other kids, we are not that different, they do different things for
fun based on the weather (like ice skating, build snowmen, snowball fights, etc), we learned that they still go to school even though they were -15 degrees below zero and had about 4 inches of snow, and learning from each other is fun and more exciting!
Can’t wait for our next journey!!!
